Halloween ‘Scare on the Square‘
Our next big event on the Square will be on Halloween. The Scare on the Square is Saturday, October 31st from 4-6pm. All the Shoppes will be open and have treats for our little ‘Trick or Treaters’. The Square is a nice safe place for the kids. It’ll be a super fun day!
Local artist Candy Prather is this months featured artist at Candlelight & Lamposts
Candy Prather is our featured artist for October. Beginning Saturday the 10th, her art will be displayed on our Mezzanine. We will have wine and cheese for you to enjoy with her art.
“Candy Prather and her husband are native Texans who have raised three children together and are enjoying numerous grandchildren. It is her fourth year to live in Rockwall who works full-time, has a small home studio, and enjoys painting in her spare time.
Candy has experienced painting with pencil, pastels, charcoal and oils, with her favorite medium being oils. She has been an apprentice to a well-known commercial artist and has taken local classes and workshops. Candy has exhibited locally at The Texas Roast, Candlelight & Lamposts, The Hilton Bella Harbor Fine Art Gallery and Rockwall Art League’s Annual Fall Art Show/Sale in 2007 and 2008. She is a member of the Rockwall Art League.
In 2003 Candy began the journey of visual art with pencils, pastel and charcoal. Two years later in 2005, she embarked on to painting with oils. Creating paintings that speak to the heart is her ambition. Candy’s art-work is a reflection of her spirit and a positive approach to life, with her passion being portraits and people. Depending upon His guidance, Candy’s inspiration comes from her love for God as she continues to study and develop her talent in painting.”

El Cayote Rojo Cantina & Grill is open. I recently had lunch there, the atmosphere is quite nice and we really enjoyed the food.
